Thousand Roads (primary) PokéCommunity (2023), Bulbagarden (2023) | (pending) |
The story is an exploration of the character and mindset of Tephros, a Blaziken who is the starter and vanguard Pokémon of elite-level trainer Miria Eygliz. When Miria and her team go take a day off and explore the wilderness in search of flowers, for the natural gardens that Miria's mother maintains, Tephros's mind is more occupied with thoughts of the power of Fire element that be wields and how it can be increased with Mega Evolution.
A conflict comes when the team finds a cavity potentially leading to some interesting flowers, but the entrance of the channel blocked by a landslide. Tephros feels the boulders, even if large, would pale before the power of his Mega form just as small pebbles do; and is forced to ponder the overpowering solution the Mega form would provide versus the realization that the flowers, which the rest of the team does care for as much as their Trainer does, may be damaged.
The story features Miria Eygliz's Suocéverse incarnation, and her team. The team is comprised of a Blaziken Tephros, a Marowak Squall (here unnamed), an unnamed Voltorb and an unnamed Sinistea. The team is inherited from the character's appearance in WAAPT, with Sinistea being a new addition.
The story marks the debut for all these characters in the Suocéverse, although only Tephros and Miria are named.
No locations are named or suggested in the story but it can be assumed it takes place Emisre given that Tephros mentions the flower gardens Miria's mother works on; overall it is a wilderness area in the region as is the case in Asking for Roc .
The story was written as part of Thousand Roads' Fourth Anniversary Drabble Bingo. The card prompt for it was “leaders and rulers”, and the slot the story fills is “Power Reveals”.
