Spanish Title: “Contrapuestos de por Vida”

This story was entered for the Small Writing Contest 2014, which went with the prompt “rivals”, and to which I was invited as a chivalroud challenge by fellow SWC regular icomeanon6. Misaimed for Life shows various fragments in the lives of canon characters Archie and Maxie, the leaders of Team Aqua and Team Magma, spanning from their childhood years in school, to the times after the events in Pokémon Emerald, in an attempt to discover for the audience how two seemingly random children and their personal relationship ended up as pivotal elements for the story of their region.

Misaimed for Life is, according to at least one reviewer, my first attempt at comedy, though it better qualifies as a friendship after-action report fic. It is also my second attempt at writing a canon character, and the first one that saw fruition. The release of Pokémon Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapphire in 2015 might decanon this story, but this is at the moment undecided.

Up until the release of Overlord, this story was my only publication dealing with canon characters (Archie and Maxie in this context).

As of August 2016, the original content of this story is back to the planning board to turn it into a miniseries as well as more properly account for the Suocéverse interpretation of the events of Generation 3.
