Valatos is a Pokémon of the Yanma species in the Suocéverse. He is a Yanma or Yanmega who is in general terms a low-tier bully or a jerk towards other people, abusing a position of power to pester them and boast of his own position.

Valatos originates from WAAPT, where he was seen as a bully Pokémon living in the alternate future of the Goldenrod / Ecruteak forests. He was often seen sharing screentime with Fey.

Valatos does not currently (at the latest update of this article) have a set role in the Suocéverse, instead he is kept as a workable character concept until a place can be found where he can fit.

The name “Valatos” had no particular meaning when the character was first introduced. It was similar to the name “veleta”, Spanish for a weather vane. It just so happens that the name is similar to a conjugation (transliterated) of the Greek verb βάζω (vázo), “to make”, as in to force someone to do something. Befitting of a character intended to be a bully and overall jerk.
