Nix is the sole offspring of the Present Era's current (“Protector”) Ho-Oh. A female chick of age in the single digit years at most. At her young age, she has not developed a Ho-Oh's abilities and has no idiosyncrasies of her own.

Nix and Ho-Oh debut in Simpler than Magic , where her caretaker Spectrum takes her to see a human who has come to Ho-Oh's hideout seeking an interview. She is taken away for her own safety by Spectrum when the human mistakes her for the “real” Ho-Oh and attempts to manhandle her.

At her young age it will be a long time before Nix reaches adulthood, let alone potentially take over her father as the Protector Ho-Oh. She would take as long to acquire that role as aprox. yr 3900-4000 PE (ie.: aprox. 300 years after Generation 3). Were Nix to become a Protector, she would inherit some of the same supernatural abilities her father has, including the ability to spawn a trio of Legendary Gerbils.

Family:

Her father is the Protector Ho-Oh and her mother is a wild Ho-Oh theoretically hailing from the continent east of Caledoria.
