Maekrite is a Nidoran♂, later Nidorino, that features in the “near-future” lore of the Suocéverse. He is the second starter of Machalí sol Linaros and effectively the prince heir to the La Plancha Sovereignty.

Maekrite was born in the La Plancha Sovereignty sometime near 3730 PE^{(~3 before Gen1)} and was among the first litter to Inka and Baluarkos. Of the three of the litter he is one of two who made it to childhood, the other being Nirma.

Little is made of Maekrite's infancy other than he was raised communally with the other children of the eastern La Plancha hlessil, and that after he left the nest to live on his own, at around 1 yr old, he moved to the south-eastern area of the mesa. He did not visit his parents often, nor kept in contact with them, until the hardest times of the Draconic Claim came along.

During the early chapters of Tricks of the Love Fast it is mentioned that Maekrite left the family den long ago but kept some degree of closeness to his various siblings, as Inka and Baluarkos's 3rd or 4th litter siblings know of him and ask of his whereabouts after a dragon attack.

As male Nidoran who first go into the hlessi life usually tend to build up their troops starting in pairs, it is presumed that Maekrite usually prowls around with one established troop mate, likely of the lineage of one of Baluarkos's neighbour troops.

At some point before Inka takes over the Sovereignty, Maekrite joins a band of Nidoran and Zigzagoon who prowl the southern slopes of the mesa, thieving from spider Pokémon and from human campers in search for food or items to replenish the guard troops.

After an Altaria attack on the mesa, Inka sent Baluarkos out to check in on all their offspring already “living aboveground”, which would include at least Maekrite and Nirma. Looking for Maekrite, Baluarkos headed into the dense hills of the eastern side of the mesa, but despite some exploration or adventures, could not find any evidence that Maekrite had gone there.

During that exploration, Baluarkos had a dream, probably induced by natural hallucinogens, where Maekrite was seen as a Nidoran grazing some distance away from his parents. Baluarkos tried to call him to attention but the effect of the dream, materialized as the song of the Altaria, urged him to just let Maekrite go.

Despite Inka making serious efforts to ensure her offspring would get to fully live as wild Pokémon and not involve themselves deeply in human affairs, by the time Inka is retired from her rule over the Sovereignty it turns out fate has made it so that Maekrite becomes Machalí sol Linaros's second starter, taking the place that was initially going to be assigned to either Buchanan or Ufeŭ, and who themselves were the ones to take the place of Inka in the first place.

Maekrite departs with Machalí when the latter is summoned by PEFE for an examination of various applicants to the organization sometime near 3736 PE^{(~3 after Gen1)} , and presumably follows him to his side gig as a researcher in the Gold Conference, mirroring his initial character storyline in WAAPT.

At some point later in his life, presumably near 3740 PE^{(~7 after Gen1)} , Maekrite is EX branded by one of the Legendary Pokémon of Caledoria, presumably Ho-Oh, with the task of completing a research investigation and expulsion of enemy Pokémon from the southern lands.

Maekrite appears in the WAAPTverse as that's where the general concept of his character comes from. He debuted in the Gold Conference Arc as the Starter of “Silent”, Machalí's version in that storyline, and retains the position of lead mon for most of his Trainer's storyline from around 2011 to 2016.

Maekrite has at least two incarnations there: his OU / OT (“Original Timeline”) incarnation, which was the one that debuted the character starting at the Gold Conference Arc, and an AU (“Alternate Timeline”) incarnation that starts with the story's Alternate Timeline Arc.

In Fobbie's 'verse where Grounded takes place, Maekrite exists under the name “Rinaldo” and shows up as the starter of Alberi (Machalí's version in that 'verse). The story itself an adaptation of the original WAAPT storyline where Maekrite debuted in the first place.
