The story follows a Celebi, accompanying a team of Luxio and Riolu into a boss battle. However, in the midst of it Celebi has to leave to journey across time and get to a TV, just in time to watch a new episode of her favourite telenovela about time travellers.

The whole telenovela thing references the first arc of Power Rangers Time Force, which was more or less written with telenovela elements including a “twin romance”-like arc.

The Riolu and Shinx team Celebi was assisting is a reference to the overused PMD story MCs, and the characters themselves also reference (or might even be versions of) Keller and Sasqūe.
